Sailing in the keel boat
Camp for youth from 12 years
Autumn week
Internal or external
Max 4 persons per boat - Enjoy and learn together. Fun with four people in a keel boat. You learn to take responsibility for your boat and crew. Because the instructor is on board with you, you receive direct guidance and learn quickly.
De Kaag is located on a unique island in the middle of the Randstad! You immediately get the holiday feeling when you get on the ferry to come to us. We sail the 16m2 with a maximum of 4 people and an instructor. That's very cosy and you quickly make new friends. In the morning we sail on our practice lake and after lunch we make a trip to one of the villages in the area. During the trip we put the exercises into practice. This way you will discover de Kaag with all its nice little islands. You can register for different levels. When making the boat arrangement we take into account the level and age differences.
CWO
CWO stands for Commission Watersports Education. We work with CWO certified instructors. This commission guarantees quality. With us you can get three CWO-recognized diplomas.
Even if you have never sailed before, it is possible to get your CWO Kielboot I diploma in one week. You will learn the basic principles of sailing, such as hoisting and lowering, sail positions, tacking and jibbing, but also mooring and booms. If you have sailed before, you can go for the CWO Kielboot II diploma, which takes about 2 weeks after you got your first diploma. You will then be prepared to sail a boat independently. The advanced students go for their CWO Kielboot III diploma, often it takes 3 weeks after CWO 2 to get this. Here we prepare you to independently sail the boat under all circumstances. You will also have to learn the theoretical background of sailing (e.g. knots and regulations). Theory is mainly taught during the day so there is time left for other fun things in the evening.
So you see! There are plenty of challenges in the 16m2. Our instructors will work with you to make this a week to remember!
Day trip
On Thursday, weather permitting, our boats and their skippers take to the open sea! Or we lay out the buoys for a real race. Of course you will prepare a packed lunch before departure and the instructors will bring along plenty of drinks and snacks. Who knows, you might be standing on the podium in the evening!
Program
The sailing hours are from 09.30 till 17.00 with of course a break to have a nice lunch and chill at the Watersports Academy. Also in the evening there is enough to do. If the weather is nice you can jump from the Blob, suppolo or just chill at the campfire. This way you can meet your (new) friends! On Friday we will all enjoy the barbecue and the closing party. Or what about an exotic beach party?
Sleeping at home in your own bed? That's no problem for our younger guests! With us you can also participate in the sailing camp externally. We will pick you up every morning between 09.00 and 09.15 hours at the ferry. At noon you can have dinner with us at the sailing school and between 17.30 and 17.45 hours your parents can pick you up at the ferry or if you like at 20.30 hours after the evening program. On Friday evening we will end the week with a delicious barbecue in the garden followed by the colourful evening and a disco party!
