Instructor training

Are you a positive, responsible and enthusiastic water sports person with hidden super powers? Then we would love to have you as an instructor with us!

As an instructor on De Kaag we naturally expect you to be willing to roll up your sleeves, but you will also get a lot in return! Spending whole days on the water, having a great time together every day and being part of a super close instructor team.

Instructor training

To get started at Watersport Academy de Kaag as a Sailing/Surfing instructor, it is necessary to follow an instructor training with us. This training is given once a year, in the May holidays.

In order to attend the training courses, you must be at least 16 years old or become 16 years old by 1 July in the following sailing season. Also, you must be in possession of your CWO III certificate or we should expect you to reach this level in the limited training time during this week. During this week there will not only be training during the day. A lot of time will be spent on theory lessons such as the methodology and didactics involved in teaching.

Conditions for participation in instructor training in the May holidays

- To participate you must be in possession of 1 of the following CWO diplomas:

  • CWO III in the discipline Kielboot.

  • CWO III in the discipline Swordboat and at least 1 week of training in the discipline Keelboot.

  • CWO III in the discipline Windsurfing.

  • CWO III in the discipline Catamaran.

- On day 2 there will be an intermediate evaluation of the trainers. If there is a reason to talk to you about completing the training, this will be communicated on this day.

-If you are not yet in possession of one of the diplomas mentioned above, but are at such a level in one of these disciplines that before the end of the week you are at CWO III level, both in practice and theory, you can participate (in consultation).

– In het seizoen in het jaar na het volgen van de opleidingsweek dien je minimaal 3 kampweken of vergelijkbaar(in overleg) te komen werken. Lukt jou dit achteraf helaas niet, dan zijn wij genoodzaakt een naheffing van in rekening te brengen.
